| Salvador fue poeta y no vio publicado su último libro, Elegía de abril, ya que falleció cuando éste estaba en imprenta. Sus hijos, Mary (72) y Carlos (70) mantuvieron guardados durante muchos años los paquetes con los libros de su padre en lo alto de un placard. Van a cumplirse cincuenta años de la muerte de Salvador. Mary, que está preocupada por la suerte de los objetos acumulados en la casa, decide pedirle ayuda a su nieto Federico para bajar los paquetes. Carlos, que vive con ella en una viejísima casa familiar, se opone sin tener motivos ciertos. Es un enfrentamiento entre los hermanos que oculta el verdadero enfrentamiento de los dos con el pasado y el tiempo La presencia de Federico los pondrá a los dos de cara a sí mismos. Salvador emergerá en la evocación, fragmentado, parcial en la memoria. También Federico se asomará a su propio rostro a través de la reconstrucción de una genealogía íntima. |
| Salvador was a poet and he didn’t live to see published A Father’s Elegy, his last book, as he died when it was still in the printing press. His daughter Alicia (72) and his son, Juan (74), kept the parcels of copies of their father’s book stashed away for many years, high up, on top of a wardrobe. It has been almost fifty years since the death of Salvador. Alicia, who is ill and concerned with what is to happen to all the odds and ends that lie about the house, decides to ask her grandson Federico for help to bring down the parcels of books. Juan, who lives with her in the very old family home, is against this, without having any real reasons. This is a confrontation between brother and sister that hides the real confrontation of both with the Past and with Time. The presence of young Federico will force brother and sister to come face to face with themselves.
